The app
QuestStage is an independent Mac app from Fairlight Apps. It uses an authorised ADB connection to transfer video and supported audio between your Quest and Mac over USB or your local network. It does not relay that video through a QuestStage cloud service. The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
Saved headset information
Headset names, device serial numbers, connection addresses, video quality, crop and reconnect preferences are saved locally on your Mac. Diagnostic session logs are also stored locally. Use Forget headset to remove a saved profile. Local support files and logs remain in ~/Library/Application Support/QuestStage/ until you remove them.
Pairing and debugging authorisation
Pairing codes are used to authorise the connection and are not saved in QuestStage profiles or placed in process arguments. ADB manages its own host keys and trusted-device state. Forgetting a QuestStage profile does not revoke ADB authorisation. You can revoke debugging authorisation in the headset’s settings.
The Mac’s Wi-Fi name
macOS requires Location Services authorisation before it reveals a Wi-Fi network name to an app. QuestStage requests this permission to show the name during setup. It does not request location-coordinate updates or save the network name. The name is refreshed while the network instruction is visible. You can decline or revoke permission and continue setup by checking your Mac’s Wi-Fi menu yourself.
Network access
The app discovers and connects to authorised devices on the local network. Opening setup documentation, support or privacy links uses your browser and the selected website. The policies of Meta, Apple and other sites apply when you visit their services.
This website
We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, cookies or visitor accounts to this website. Its hosting provider may process ordinary connection information needed to deliver and secure the pages. External links are only contacted when you follow them. Fonts and product images are served with the site.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and investigate the issue. Please remove pairing codes, passwords, private network details and unrelated personal information before sending logs or screenshots.
